How much with this 1911 smithing cost?
I want to get a;
1. Throat job ( will this hurt cartridge support?)
2. Polish the feed ramp (again with the above question)
3. Get an arched mainspring housing.
4. Get a Commander style hammer.
How much do these usually cost individually? My RIA 1911 in .38super is jamming alot from FTF and FTE. Pain in the arse, especially after doing all that work just to find ammo and the sheer cost of .38super. I'm not ready to give up on it yet because it shoots almost as well (accuracy wise) as a XD with 1.4 inch groups normal at 25yards. The reason for the throat job is it only feeds ball ammo (sometimes not even that). The brass (PMC, UMC) comes out with streaks on it that somewhat look like stretch marks. Winchester and magtech have huge gashes in the case mouth from ejection. What do I need to improve ejection? The mag springs are weak too so I plan on getting a Chip McCormick mag soon.

none of these will help ejection (polishing the throat might slightly but not much) FTE is going to be the extractor most likely, but you need to give me more details on exactly what is happening, is it staying in the chamber? is is coming out part way? is it stove piping? etc.
FTF is either a feed ramp that is too rough or the wrong angle, or it is the mag. But again, is it hanging up as it leaves the mag, against the feed ramp, or against the top of the chamber? An experienced gunsmith can re cut the breakover at the top of the ramp without removing too much metal which is critical for safety. Don't try to do this yourself.
