how come my hp black cartridge does not work?

i have a hp deskjet 3745. my problem is with the black ink. it doesnt seem to work. the colored ink works fine. i bought a new black cartridge but it still doesnt work. all i get is green ink if i try to print in black. is there something wrong with the cartridges i have or is it with the printer?? help. huhuh. how can i fix it?

If you try the print head cleaning and it doesn't work, definitely contact HP. They guarantee their cartridges and will send you a new one. This assumes you purchased an OEM HP cartridge. If not, definitely contact the store or site you bought it at and ask for a refund or replacement.

One other note -- sometimes you need to run the print head cleaning MULTIPLE times to get the ink flowing correctly.
