Scrapbooking: I want to make some journals for my friends...?

I'm making journals for my friends. I want to purchase plain journals and stick my own paper on, with embellishments such as foam letters spelling out their names, pictures etc, possibly beads and so on. Which glue is best to use, and how would I go about covering the journal at the end of the process so the embellishments dont fall off? Could I get plastic covers to slip on? Has anyone else done this before?

You can run the paper through a Xyron machine to turn it into a sticker and then attach in on the cover. I don't know if it's sturdy enough to withstand being on the cover, however.

You can also use rubber cement for the paper, but again don't know if it is strong enough to be a cover.

The hard thing about 3D items is that they will take hits during it's lifetime and may fall off. It's probably best to stick with flat items. I think the foam stickers would be okay but the beads may be a difficult one to use. (Just my opinion.)

I would definitely use a book cover. There is a clear plastic sheeting that bookstores use to cover book and that is what you can use to protect the cover you are making. Unfortunately I don't know the name of this material but I'm sure a good used bookstore or craft store will be able to direct you to it.
