Will you wear the Red or the White Poppy ?
The red Poppy as a fund raiser for ex-servicemen/woman was set up in the mid 1920's and has remained ever since. The Poppy originally embossed with 'the Haig fund' may seem slightly ironic that the General (Haig) who sent millions of British men to their deaths during WW1 should then set up a fund for those who remained alive but scared after the war ended.
Since the mid 1930's there has been a peace movement who wanted the white poppy to be adopted by the British Legion after they refused to emboss the Red Poppy with 'No more War'. But the white poppy has met with fierce resistance by those who feel it insults those who gave their lives for the nation.
Which colour poppy will you wear this month ? and what logo or text should be embossed in the centre of the poppy ?

I will be wearing both, the reason? The red symbolizes the fact that we acknowlege the sacrifice they made for us, and the white because war is evil and I want all war 2 stop forever.
