All I have learned so far watching the so-called "stage of World football" in South Africa is how not to.....?

.....lose my patience enough to smash the television that is transmitting this garbage!!
I realise that it is the Group Stages, and that teams are going to be ultra-cautious in the main, but where is the flair and genius that World-Class players are supposed to bring?
Alas, this "World Class" tag is merely a myth these days.
Instead, we are watching a bunch of over-hyped prima donnas who appear more interested in their reflection than their country.
I always felt that the more the players would become richer and richer, the less they would show true commitment to their clubs and countries.
The Germans aside, it has been one long predictable bore, with Fear and Negativity controlling the Show.
O. for the days when the World Cup produced many moments of magic and class.
I hope I am proved wrong throughout the remainder of the tournament, although I will not hold my breath.......

Agreed, but I'm hoping everyone was just cautious in the first games and it will change. Even Brazil wasn't very impressive against North Korea.

Uruguay shone against South Africa and the Spain upset was nice. I think as we get into the second round of games we'll see more aggressive play. Teams that were content to get a draw the first time now need a win to advance.
