Help with scrapbooking?
For me and my boyfriends 6th month anniversary I wanna start making him a scrapbook that I can add pages to every few months. Ive saved all the notes he's ever written me, and cute texts he's sent me. Every time we go to a chinese restaurant we break open a fortune cookie together and I save the fortune. We have a lot of pictures together, and Ive dried out and saved flowers that he has given to me for anniversary gifts. My only problem now is that I don't know what kind of pages to do and what else to put in it. I have about a month and a half to do this but I want to start now so that it doesn't look rushed and sloppy. Any ideas?
I think that it is awesome that you want to make a scrapbook !! They can be a lot of fun to make. The first piece of advice that I will give you is to make sure that you use a scrapbook that has strap hinges. These are so much easier to work with than post. I would also tell you to probably use a 12x12 size - that will give you a much bigger area to put pictures and memorabilia on. One thing that you would want to get ( at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, scrapbook store) is clear plastic memorabilia pockets. You can put your fortunes, ticket stubs, etc.. in these and close the flap and then tape it down to your scrapbook page. This way, people can still see your memorabilia but you won't have to worry about it yellowing or hurting your actual scrapbook page. Everything that you use should be acid-free or lignon free.
The easiest way to start a scrapbook is to do it chronologically. Since you basically have just one subject, you can start at the beginning of your relationship and put everything in order up until your anniversary. Ideas for page layouts can be gotten out of scrapbooking magazines, google "scrapbook layout pages" and you'll get a tone of websites that you can visit - memory makers. scrapbooking inc.,..
Just get yourself organized and then dive in.
