Advice on getting with my best friend?

Sometimes you have to result to Yahoo answers if you have nobody to talk to about matters. Here is another time. I'll try not to make it too long, I always hate reading those longwinded questions people ask. Anywho, I'm in love with my best friend. Don't worry - opposite sex. I'm a girl and he's a boy. We've known each other for 1 year now and we go to school together but we mainly talk online. He's in most of my classes, our friendship bloomed through gaming which we still do to this day on the computer. I fancy him. I fancy him bad. I talk to him everyday and he's an awesome friend but if I ask him out - if he says no - our friendship will never be the same again. I really don't want to lose him as a friend but I really want to be his girl... Advice please?

I think that you should test the waters to see if he likes you as more as a friend by asking him questions that a person who likes you as more than a friend would answer with a yes and a person who doesn't like you as more than a friend would say no to. Like compare yourself to another girl and ask who he thinks is prettier (someone who is as pretty as you and who looks kind of like you)
