How did you address your invitation envelopes?
A lot of the people we're inviting to our wedding are couples. For the couples you invited, did you put "John and Mary Smith" or "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith"? Did you do it the same way on both the outer envelope (with the address) and inner envelope, if you had both? Or did you maybe do "John and Mary Smith" on the outer envelope and "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith" on the inner envelope? Would it look weird to have it two different ways on the two envelopes like that?
Does anyone actually care about how their names are put on the envelope when they receive an invitation?
Outside envelope is formal - Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Outside envelope inviting kids, too - Mrs. and Mrs. John Smith and Family
Inside envelope is personal - John and Mary Smith
and if you want their kids, too - John, Mary, Jim and Jane
or John, Mary, and family
