newb 7week old puppy!?
She is a white lab, and is adorable! i love her to death but how old are they supposed to be to lose their teeth? and she is also a whinner but is getting better, her name is molly! will it take time for the female dog we have to stop growling at molly? dellanie is the older girl she is 6, and she only growls at her when she is trying to nip or take her bone. she rly doesnt want anything to do with her but i make sure she gets alot of attention too! she does the puppy sleeps in a kennel while the oder one sleeps on my bed. help me please! answer all so i dont have to post a million things. thanks!
7 weeks is pretty young to have been weaned from the mother. Puppies will lose teeth anywhere from 7-8 weeks to 4 months for some of the larger molers. It's not uncommon for a bit of "arguing" when introducing a new animal into the family, especially two females. I would discourage letting the older dog continue to nip at the puppy over food matters. This can create a big problem when the puppy gets older with food aggression. If feeding time is a problem, make sure they all eat their own food in separate rooms and with my dogs, any bone or toy that turns into a fight gets taken away. They have learned that if they want to keep what they have, to share (or take it where another dog can't reach lol)
I would also discourage letting the older dog get to sleep on the bed while the pup sleeps in the kennel. For two relating reasons. Your older dog already sounds like she wants to be the dominate dog (her house, she has seniority) You are just reinforcing this to the older dog, she is not only sleeping with you and getting that privileged, but literally getting to sleep higher up than the pup. They will never get along until the older dog realizes everyone is loved the same. They should all be sleeping in their own kennels. They know that as their "safe" place that is just for them.
