How to make note cards?
For my pre-ib english cpt, I have to choose a novel that cleary shows adventure or fantasy. Then I have to write an essay about the purpose, effectiveness, and developement of my theme. I chose the Hobbit.
How can I make good note cards for this research essay? I need to record patterns, motifs, themes, person's view of life/message, philosophies, quotations, and anything crucial to the essay basically. What format do I use? How do I organize the topic headings for each note card? And is my novel a good choice?
This is a lot of information to cram into note cards.
First you have to figure out the order you want to say things.
Most people have read the book they know it's about riddles and Gollum and Hobbits and a Dragon.
Anything you present should be addressed in a systematic way to the end of the story. I would only do 3 different topics say patterns/ themes and philosophy. Then put all the other stuff under those headings.
Present each one individually and conclude by mentioning each one.
Your cards should contain a lead in line for each topic point. When people speak publicly the first words of an idea are crucial to remembering the gist of the message.
