Is it safe to use the small amt of Salicylic acid (like in oxy pads) during pregnancy?
I'm 19 weeks pg and wondering if the small amts of Salicylic acid in oxy pads are safe to use for zits? thanks.
No, it isn't safe to use during pregnancy. I would stay away from any acid while pregnant. If you are concerned about dark patches use Phyto Corrective Gel from SkinCeuticals, completely safe for pregnant women. If your concern is acne, I would increase your water intake which will make the acne a little worse at first then dramatically decrease as water consumption continues. Eat healthy foods regularly and try to meditate to reduce your stress level. Getting 8 hours of sleep every night and even a nap in the day since you are pregnant will help. If your acne persists, dab a dot of honey on the sore and rinse off when it begins to dry. Consult your OB-GYN with any product you may question. Good luck and hope you have an easy pregnancy and birth!
