Game theory question: Rock, paper, scissors?
Ok, so I don't know if this is technically game theory, but I have a question about the game rock, paper, scissors. I've found that if you add 2 more things to the list (e.g. fire and water, or whatever), you can set up the relationships such that no one thing has the advantage, and there will never be a tie.
My question: does this work for any odd number of things (it doesn't work for even numbers), or are there only certain "magic" numbers for which this game works? Either way, is there a nice way to show this algebraically, rather than just testing out different odd numbers?

Odd number of points will have an even number of connecting lines. For every yes there is a no. If not, a contradiction of game
(and symmetry) results.
Even number of points will have an odd number of connecting lines. One line will be without a compliment.
