Is it appropriate to serve pie at a tea party?
I am planning an annual tea party (Texas style) and would like to make use of so many wonderful pie recipes. This is for a large group ranging in age from 3 years old to 88.
It's not traditional if you wanted to do a British-style high tea, but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. (I'm trying to picture a Texas style tea, and all my imagination can conjure is bread-loaf sized cucumber sandwiches and petit fours big enough to lasso...?)
How about modifying some of your great pie recipes into small tarts? Then they would fit right in with typical tea party finger foods.
